The Real Start

So if I am going to answer the question of what is the perfect cigar to me, I would have to acknowledge a few things -- a cigar is an experience, and as such it can be tempered by everything around it.  A beverage or mood, the time of day, what you ate recently or earlier, who you are with, where you are going or what music you are listening to just to barely scratch the surface.

There are cigars that are arguably for different occasions, a lighter cigar paired with a coffee vs. something more flavorful after dinner vs. one you might take with you on a dog walk.  Also, if you ate a turkey sandwich every day you'd be pretty sick of turkey sandwiches - so you would want some of that strange every once in a while.  But a favorite cigar should not be an "everyone wins" kind of situation,  it should be a blood sport Vann Dammmnnn movie full of awkward execution faces.

I'll also be doing this without alcohol and trying to normalize or acknowledge the other variables.  There's no sense prevaricating about the bush, Gromit - I hate whiskey.  It tastes of pain and high school, I have to force myself with the same mental energy as I might choking down a vurp.

Bourbon, scotch, rye, aged, expensive whatever - you're all a bunch of dirty liars who want to either take a picture of my facial contortions or get me drunk enough that I'll admit I like it, but it would never hold in court.   Not worth the effort.   I do like a nice Guiness though  ... mmmmm.  Okay, an exception for Guiness.

I also thought that while I assume I know Arturo Fuente at this point, I didn't record much more than a note and a number and it would be a perfect place (letter A even) to start recording this data a little better.  I saw a printout that gave a lot of notes and places to talk about body and the second third and information on the cigar, it looked like a workbook and it's probably the perfect thing for some people at some point in their cigar hobby -- but for now I'm going to keep it a little more simple for my stupid.
